A New Year’s resolution is a common tradition where a person resolves to change a trait or behavior to accomplish a personal goal or to improve their life. It dates back to the Babylonians who made promises to their gods at the start of each year that they would return borrowed objects and pay their debts. As 2019 gets started, it’s time to share some of our Her Voice readers’ resolutions. I’ll start with my own, which is to be more present and to enjoy the moment.
Amy – My New Year’s resolution is to go with the flow.
Kaitlyn – My New Year’s resolution is to stop smoking cigarettes.
Amanda – My New Year’s resolution is to continue to improve myself.
Ashley – My New Year’s resolution is to get back into meditating and take things in stride to avoid getting overwhelmed by the little things.
Chelsea - My New Year’s resolution is I don’t like to make New Year’s resolutions.
Stephanie – My New Year’s resolution is to model my life after the movie “Up” and know ‘adventure is out there.’ My son will be a year around then and I want to try and take him different places for exploring. Maybe just a different park or full-on out of town to a museum. Just to not get stuck in a rut and go to the same places and do the same things.
Brittany – My New Year’s resolution is to not wear makeup every day. Along the lines of breaking the glass ceiling for women.
Katie – My New Year’s resolution is to finally finish my degree this year.
Jennifer – My New Year’s resolution is to meditate more and go vegan again!
Becky – My New Year’s resolution is to pay off 15k in debt!
Hopefully your New Year is filled with good things and you accomplish your goals!
