Joan Neubauer Named Yanktons 2015 Citizen of the Year
Joan Neubauer Named Yankton’s
2015 Citizen Of The Year
Yankton native, community booster
and volunteer Joan Neubauer has
been named Yankton’s 2015 Citizen
of the Year. The announcement was
made in a recent issue of the Yankton
Daily Press & Dakotan.
One of the individuals who
nominated Neubauer noted that
she is “a full-time volunteer for our
community. She gives time and
leadership to many groups; most
notably, the Mead building project has
her strong support.”
Neubauer is a graduate and a
longtime booster of Yankton College.
She is also president of the Yankton
County Historical Society’s board of
directors.

---- Membership on the Board of the
Yankton Children’s Choir, 2008-2011

--- Volunteers regularly at Meals on
Wheels at the UMC
--- Became involved in ministering to
residents of the local Care centers
through regular group singing
sessions.
--- Joined the Yankton Greater
Federation of Women’s Clubs in
2008 and has provided leadership,
programming and inspiration, while
taking on any task which needs to be
done.
--- Became a member of the Questers
organization in 2011 and provides
leadership, programming and serves
as hostess when called upon.
A reception and program honoring
Neubauer will be held on a date to be
determined.
