Real Women HealtHcaRe. as a Physician assistant at Vermillion medical clinic, i evaluate patients for a variety of concerns including sore throats, sprained ankles, high blood pressure and everything in between! in addition to treating patients for acute illness or injury, i also follow up with patients with management of their chronic conditions, and see patients for annual wellness visits. Does a particular moment in the clinic’s history stand out to you and why? patient the information they need within minutes. this has been a significant benefit to providers and patients. Acquiring a digital imaging system for x-rays stands out as an important moment in the clinic’s history. historically, a patient would have a film x-ray in Vermillion that would be sent over to yankton at night, then read by the radiologist the next day. digital technology now allows an image to be taken here at the Vermillion Medical Clinic and transmitted instantly to our radiologist in yankton, dr. eidsness. While the patient is still at our clinic, i can go over the image with him, ask him questions about the image, and give the What do you enjoy most about your job, and what do you enjoy most about working for the clinic? i enjoy being able to help people feel better; whether it is prescribing an antibiotic to cure their strep throat, or helping someone understand how to lower their blood sugar and manage their diabetes. helping patients improve their quality of life is gratifying. i am so lucky to be able to work with the other providers, nurses and staff at Vermillion Medical Clinic. the goal for everyone here is to treat patients as we would want to be treated. Our providers communicate well, and i feel very fortunate to be working in this supportive environment.
